Water problems in the Baton Rouge area are similar to those in the Cedar City area. However, there are additional complications, including
large growth faults and salinity. This cross-section from Hanor, Bray, and Nunn at LSU shows salinity increases in the vicinity of the St. Gabriel and Darrow salt domes.
There are numerous water wells in this area, and the same type of analytics applied in Southern Utah could be applied here once the data is collected in a spread-sheet.
The remainder of this talk is about a new geophysical data type which can be used to tie together data from disparate water wells, oil and gas wells, seismic surveys, etc.
